The Client

CK Group is a highly successful and award-winning recruitment business that specialises in scientific, clinical, and technical roles – working with professionals in the UK, Europe and USA. Since its establishment in 1991, the company has become a dominant force in the industry, forming strong partnerships with innovative companies of all sizes, from independent businesses to global blue-chip organisations.

The Challenges

We first started working with CK Group as an SEO client on their separate websites:

  • ckscience.co.uk
  • ckclinical.co.uk
  • cktechnical.co.uk

User-centric content strategy

Our first challenge was to increase organic traffic and the discoverability of open job roles. We approached the SEO strategy in line with how prospective candidates discovered employment opportunities. In short, we worked with the team to research and produce ‘job profile’ content according to well-structured page briefs to ensure that we addressed user-specific search intent.

Strategic brand restructuring

Secondly, prospective clients and candidates often mentioned ‘CK Group’ regardless of the website in question which led to a disjointed user journey. Lauren, the Group Marketing Manager, made the strategic decision to opt for a website migration – effectively merging all the websites into the main group site:

  • ckgroup.co.uk

This presented a unique opportunity to consolidate brand equity and further strengthen CK Group’s online presence as a whole with the following benefits:

  • Further, enhance the effectiveness of our SEO strategy
  • Improve the structure of the new website with both SEO and users in mind
  • Consolidate ‘brand power’ and positioning in line with user expectations

However, there was a major risk as ckscience.co.uk and ckclinical.co.uk were both performing well from an acquisition perspective. It was particularly important to approach a migration with careful consideration.

The Results

Over the last 12 months, our content strategy has led to

  • +2.7 million impressions from ‘job profiles’
  • +25,000 clicks in the last 12 months from our content implementation.
  • Over 483 target keywords now appear on the 1st page of Google.
